How to seamlessly implement self-care routines in your daily life.

With the shifts experienced this past year, we are realising that self-care has never been more important. Yet, looking after ourselves on the daily feels like an impossible task thanks to our never-ending to-do lists. So how can you realistically find time for a workout or a well-deserved massage?

The secret lies in the small, bite-sized self-care routine that you can implement here and there throughout your day. (1) Studies have shown that having a self-care routine reduces stress, boosts productivity, and helps nurture overall well being.

However, choosing the perfect self-care routine is kind of like picking a colour at the nail salon. There are too many options, and finding the right one is tricky.

So, how can you pick and implement a self-care routine seamlessly in your daily life? Perhaps these 3 steps can help you.

1. Subtly Shift Your Mindset.

Whether you tend to rush out of the door or get up early to enjoy breakfast, it is clear that the small routines we do in the morning set our mood up for the rest of the day.

If you’re looking to foster a little more mindfulness and positivity, shifting your mindset with some quick and easy morning routines will help you achieve that.

You can set up your alarm 5 minutes earlier to have a stretch, or simply drink a glass of water before reaching for a coffee. No matter what you implement or how long you do it for, switching your mindset to adopt small routines will gradually make you more mindful. (2)

2. Appreciate Your Time.

Morning mindfulness is great, but what about the rest of the day? While we are quick to say that we don’t have time for self-care, it’s vital to understand that a nurturing routine can be as simple as taking a few breaths.

Chances are they are plenty of 5 minutes windows you can spare in your day. And it may not seem like much, but using 5 short minutes for a routine - whether that’s breathing mindfully or taking a quick walk - can boost your focus and energy. (3)

So, if you’ve been searching the internet for productivity hacks, look no further. Maximise every 5 minutes you get to look after yourself.

3. Nurture That Inner Glow.

Having the right mindset and making the time for self-care routines are necessary to glow from the inside out. Experts have noted that caring for your body nurtures confidence and a greater sense of well-being. (4)

In your day-to-day, It can be dry brushing your body to boost its detoxifying process, or drinking plenty of water - flavoured with fruit if you like (5) - to replenish your skin.

Over time, any routines that nurture your inner glow will feel so good that they seamlessly become non-negotiable. You might suddenly find more time for self-care routines because after all, your mindset and productivity are better for it.

Making the time for nurturing routines is a mindset shift that will benefit your body, mind, and overall inner glow. And it doesn’t have to take hours out of your life.

Implementing small routines gradually and seamlessly has never been easier. You can start with drinking an extra glass of water, or booking a convenient mobile treatment on the same day. The key is to treat yourself regularly - with a facial or a cheeky wax - because no matter what you choose, self-care routines will do you good.
